Details that make a difference
Identify the hardware before replacing it
Drawer glides have different lengths, mounting styles, clearances, and load ratings. A part that looks similar may not fit the drawer box or cabinet. Hinges also vary by overlay and mounting pattern. Photos of the hardware and any readable labels help narrow the options before parts are ordered.
Binding may come from the drawer itself
A damaged glide is one possible cause, but a loose drawer box, uneven fastening, or interference inside the cabinet can also stop smooth movement. I review the drawer and its opening together. If the cabinet material is swollen or badly damaged, replacing the glide alone may not provide a durable correction.
Plan handle holes carefully
New cabinet pulls need a consistent layout and the correct hole spacing. Existing holes can limit the replacement options, and changing the spacing may leave visible holes to address. For new drilling, send the pull specifications and a photo of the cabinet fronts. The drilling layout is agreed before work begins; refinishing entire cabinets is outside this service.
Questions about cabinet & drawer repair
Can you match my existing drawer slides?
I can review the available information. Some older or proprietary parts are difficult to match, and a suitable replacement may require changes to the installation.
Can you install pulls on cabinets without holes?
Yes. Include the quantity, pull model, and photos so the layout and drilling scope can be confirmed.
Is a repair always cheaper than replacement?
No. Extensive material damage or unavailable parts can make a repair impractical. I review the condition before recommending the next step.
