Practical corrections, defined scope
Repairs I can help with
- Bath-fan vent corrections: Correct accessible exhaust duct routing and exterior termination, including fans that discharge into an attic, where the work fits the property and agreed scope.
- Condensation-related repairs: Repair accessible damaged duct insulation and seal small gaps or penetrations contributing to condensation. HVAC diagnosis, system changes, and major ductwork belong with an HVAC contractor.
- Minor leak repairs: Address selected accessible fixture, supply, or drain leaks within my normal handyman scope. Major plumbing and concealed or extensive leaks need a plumbing specialist.
- Exterior sealing: Replace failed caulk or sealant at selected window and door joints and small exterior penetrations. Roofing, structural water intrusion, and major flashing work are outside this service.
- Post-remediation repairs: Restore small areas of drywall, trim, or carpentry after any required remediation and verification are complete and the area is dry and ready for repair. Priming and painting are included only when quoted.
You work directly with me, Travis. I confirm the repair scope and price before scheduling and discuss unexpected conditions before additional work proceeds.
Correct the cause before covering the damage
A fresh patch or coat of paint will not resolve an ongoing leak or humidity problem. The moisture source needs to be addressed before finish repairs begin. Some projects need an independent mold assessor, remediation contractor, plumber, or HVAC professional before I can complete the building repairs.
I do not collect mold samples, interpret laboratory results, write remediation protocols, remove or treat mold-contaminated materials, or provide mold clearance. If suspected growth or unresolved contamination affects the work area, specialist evaluation or remediation may be needed first.
Already have an inspection report?
I welcome clearly defined repair recommendations from independent mold assessors, home inspectors, and remediation professionals. Share the relevant findings and photos so I can review the building-side work and prepare a separate repair quote.
Any assessment, mold cleanup, and required post-remediation verification stay with the appropriate independent professionals. Sharing a report does not imply a partnership or endorsement.
Common questions
Can you reroute a bath fan that vents into my attic?
Often, yes, if access and the exterior termination allow a small, defined installation. Send photos of the fan, visible duct route, and proposed exit area if safely accessible. Roof penetrations and work requiring a roofing contractor are outside my scope.
Do you inspect or remove mold?
No. Fix It Right does not perform mold testing or remediation. This service covers ordinary building repairs and small finish repairs after remediation is complete.
Can you repair drywall or trim after mold remediation?
Yes, small areas can be reviewed once remediation and any required verification are complete, the moisture source is corrected, and the materials are dry. The quote defines the repair and finish included.
